Our Online Herbal Medicine Course provides a foundation in folk herbalism and is oriented towards those interested in self care and learning to care for their families and loved ones. Our students will learn how to source, prepare, and utilize their own herbal medicine preparations! Additionally participants will gain a basic understanding of how to understand the medicine of the plants through herbal tastes, herbal energetics, and we will cover basic herbal formulations and building your home apothecary as well.
Our course is self paced, there is no pressure and no rush. You will have lifetime access to our course and course videos. All students will need for the course is access to the internet in order to tune in and stream our course videos. Additionally downloadable helpful course notes and resources as well as are included as well. The course page includes a recommended supply list to students but its nothing fancy, but our goal is to make herbalism easy to do at home, from your kitchen, without having to purchase additional expensive equipment.

About Your Instructor Molly Meehan Brown is passionate about community based herbal and food systems and specifically working cooperatively to keep the knowledge of our food, herbal medicine, seeds, and our healing traditions alive and vital within our communities! As the founder and director of Wild Ginger Community Herbal Education, Molly lives half the year in the DC Area and the other half the year in Talamanca, Costa Rica. She coordinates and teaches as part of the DC areas first community based herbal apprenticeship program, facilitates youth programming, and coordinates the annual Chesapeake Herb Gathering! Molly’s background includes working in Community Outreach and Education for the Centre for Agricultural and Environmental Stewardship at the Accokeek Foundation, particularly working in partnership with the Rural Coalition on outreach to socially disadvantaged farmers though the USDA 2501 Federal Grant Program. She coordinated the Federal Nutritional Benefits Program at the FreshFarm Dupont Circle Farmers Market, and previously ran the Cross-Cultural Group & Internship Programs at Punta Mona Centre for Regenerative Design and Botanical Studies in Costa Rica. Molly began her career coordinating the volunteer and medical evaluations program for clients at Survivors of Torture, International. She has a BA in International Studies / Human Rights, as well as an MA in Sustainable Development and Non-Profit Management from the School for International Training.
Molly studied herbalism at the Self Heal School for Herbal Medicine in California, with various traditional herbalists in Costa Rica for the last decade, and attended the clinical herbal program at Sacred Plant Traditions. Molly enjoys facilitating workshops as well as connecting people and plants, speaking at conferences in the US and abroad, and building in community.
