Herb Camp for Kids
REGISTRATION CLOSED
Welcome to Herb Camp for Kids, where together along with our kids we enjoy simple, nature based creative activities. Our summer session will include five sessions, all entirely outdoors at Wild Ginger Herbal Center in Bryans Road, Maryland. All materials will be provided and participants will go home with their craft and herbal activities. We will engage our senses and spend time outdoors, go on plant walks, and create art together! Each session will be between one and two hours in length.

Learning Objectives:
Students will be able to identify 10+ plants; grown in SOMD ecosystems
Students will express emotions via nature based arts
Students will garner understanding about and be able to explain the ecosystem
Students will explore the different roles in an ecosystem, defining each role
Students will demonstrate what it means to be a good steward of the earth
Students will develop social emotional literacy skills through connection to the earth, their senses, and one another
Students will identify and interpret colors and the color’s correlating meaning/message in the natural world
Students will craft child safe herbal preparations
Students will understand the traditional uses of 10+ plants
Important Info:
- Each activity is meant for a child to do along with the help of the adult of accompanies them to class. Each child must have an adult accomanying them through out the entirety of the class, though older children may not need as much assistance.
- Classes are totally outdoors, wear clothing and apparel to be fully comfortable in the weather with footwear good to walk around on grass and mud. Please bring a blanket to spread out on. Please no food or beverages besides water.
- Each child participant must be accompanied by no more than one adult. We have one rain date listed on the schedule in case a session is rained out.
- Participants can be 8 and younger. Younger siblings below 2 years of age can attend while cared for by their adult gaurdian however materials will not be provided for them. Participants 2 and above must pay to attend the series..
- This program is offered as series, while participants are not required to attend all session we do not offer a la carte registrations and thus no discounts of one session registrations.
- All registrations are final, non-refundable and non-transferable.
- We care for each other in our collective learning space, we invite folks to wear mask though they are not currently required. This is a judgement free zone regardless of stance, and we aim to hold each other in all of our differences in respect and enjoy fun together! While masks are not required, should conditions drastically change we do reserve the right to require masks.
- Please do not come to class if sick, we are happy to work with you to get class info to you if you have to miss, we want everyone to have fun and get the most out of Little Wonders!
