GPS often takes people on incorrect route - so we recommend reading the directions below and following them:
Directions from the D.C./ Baltimore area Take the Capital Beltway (I-495/95 S) or I-295 going south. From I-295 take exit 1A onto MD-210 , follow signs for MD-210 S/Indian Head Hwy. From the Beltway, take exit 3 onto MD-210 S/Indian Head Hwy. Once on MD 210 S/Indian Head Highway go 12.5 miles. Take right on Maryland 227 W (Marshall Hall Road) go 4.3 miles. Take a left on River Road go 1.2 miles, take a left on Chester Ave and go .1 miles - the farm will be on your left. Directions from Route 301, Crain Highway From Waldorf, turn onto Route 228 and follow seven miles to the end. Turn left (south) onto Indian Head Highway and go 4 miles. Take right on Maryland 227 W (Marshall Hall Road) go 4.3 miles. Take a left on River Road go 1.2 miles, take a left on Chester Ave and go .1 miles - the farm will be on your left. Public Transportation from DC: Public buses do run to and from Bryans Road on a regular but somewhat limited basis. If you plan to take the bus to one of our events we are able to help arrange you a ride down the road to our farm from the bus stop, about 7 miles from our farm. Directions ton Manzanillo
Once you are in Manzanillo, from the bus stop walk across the street to Bad Barts Dive Shop and take that street inland one block, take a right and walk 100 meters and we are on left, blue wooden house with suns on the front porch. FROM SAN JOSE Public bus: Transporte Mepe - There is a direct bus to Manzanillo de Talamanca, leaving the terminal (Terminal de San Carlos) in San Jose at 12:00 pm. It arrives here between 4:30 and 5:00 pm and costs about $12 p.p. You could also take a bus to Puerto Viejo de Talamanca and then take a taxi for the last 14 km. The taxi will cost you about $15. From the airport it will cost about $30 taxi ride to get into downtown San Jose to take the bus. Here is the Mepe bus schedule: http://www.mepecr.com/ Private Taxi - we offer private taxi service from San Jose or Airport for $200 directly here to Manzanillo (additional charge of $20pp above 4 people). We offer private transport from other areas of Costa Rica as well. Shuttle Services - Interbus and Caribe Shuttle - Private Shuttle companies offer air conditioned shuttle to pick you up near the airport or your Hotel in San Jose / Alajueal for between $50 - $60 directly to us. For drop off location tell them Cabinas Yamann, then when you are close ask the driver to call 8366-2873 to get exact location, we are just down the street! Rent a car - You can rent a car to travel around the country. At the airport you can find several companies. Adobe and Alamo both have drop off and pick up at SJO airport as well as in Puerto Viejo, just 12 km from our location. If you want to pick up the car, at the airport, it is better then to make a reservation before. Sansa/Nature Air Flight - Sansa will fly to Limon - this is the fastest option and takes about 35 minutes. From Limon you will need to take a taxi down to Manzanillo, which will cost an additional $70. We can help arrange a taxi for you. Please note you cannot fly with more than 30lbs of luggage total. |
