Daily Workshops & Tours

Local Medicinal Plant Walk - Bush Medicine of the Caribe Sur
2.5 hours walk throughout Manzanillo with local herbalist focusing on traditional Afro Costa Rican uses for herbs. Join local Afro-Costa Rican folk herbalist for a walk through her hometown sharing through stories and demonstration the various medicinal plants taught to her by her grandmother. She carries on the traditions of her ancestors and shares the way she raised her 9 kids and continues to help serve her local community with the abundant green medicine in our region.

Indigenous Chocolate Making & Waterfall Hike
​Visit local Indigenous communities learn traditional plants, foods, chocolate making plus hike to waterfall in indigenous reserve! 
7 hours includes transportation to and from Manzanillo-Puerto Viejo to BriBri and all activities, please bring water and a packed lunch
$60 per person

Nature Walk in Gondoca Manzanillo National Park
4-5 hour hike in local national park observing local flora and fauna, frequent sitings of monkeys, sloths, amazing plant and animal life. Good footwear is necessary!
$40 per person

Coconut Oil Making Workshop
2 hour workshop learning how create delicious and nutritious coconut oil in the traditional way, from coconut to oil! This is a hands on workshop where participants actually help make the coconut oil, and participants will leave with their own coconut oil!
$30 each

Traditional Caribbean Cooking Class
2 hour class in which you learn on of the most traditional dishes of the Afro Costa Rican communities made with all natural locally grown ingredients. This class is participatory, everyone participates to create this beautiful meal, and shares a meal together at the end!
$30 per person.
