Ancestral Constellations - Transgenerational Vibrational Medicine as a Healing Ritual
The aim of this work is to restore the vibrational ancestral energy between family members and within communities. When family energy is in flow, relationships are supported, anger is dissipated and hearts are reconnected. In time, the flow of love down the generations comes back into balance.
Constellations work has its roots in African Zulu ancestral traditions and community life and my approach is focused on this indigenous wisdom perspective. Constellations as healing Rites-of Passage are of special relevance to Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) who are wanting to look at themes of identity, belonging and reconnection to cultural heritage.
During the workshop, we will explore ancestral family patterns and relationships within community systems as healing rituals. A constellation can be viewed as a living family tree, mapped out in sacred community space, with others who will support your personal work. The constellations process helps to reveal hidden difficulties in relationships and indicates where strengths may be found within the family system. It is also a powerful way of bringing people together to explore their collective transgenerational history.
During the day there will be time for several constellations and we will work with the issues that people bring. Note that not everyone will be able to have a personal constellation and this will be decided on the day. Others within the group are observers and ‘representatives’ for family members, in service to the person exploring their constellation. Whatever position you are in, you will also be working on your own personal system, so everyone benefits!
Sometimes strong emotions emerge. A personal constellation may mean revealing, or speaking about issues in your family or community system that have been forgotten, hidden or excluded. For example parents and children not speaking or siblings in conflict. There may be physical or mental health problems that are carried down the generations and recur as repeating patterns. Or there may be missing family members in the ancestral line that nobody talks about.
All of these themes and more can be explored in ancestral constellations work. A different perspective emerges, sometimes issues can be resolved or relationships reconciled, but it is always a step forward. The work is enlightening, deep and often liberatory. Come with an open heart and mind ready for emergent work. Because of the nature of this workshop we will ask you to sign a waiver.
