Join us in co-creating the 2016 Chesapeake Herb Gathering! The Chesapeake Herb Gathering is an annual event organized by Centro Ashé with the intention of bringing together inter-generational herbal, land-based, and healing communities to share, re-claim, and decolonize our stories, our knowledge, our culture and traditions.
On September 24-25, 2016 we will gather for a weekend full of workshops, plant walks, youth activities, community artwork, solidarity, artisans market, campfire, live music, and community connections with herbalists, teachers, clinicians, healers, botanists, farmers, birthkeepers, medicine makers, rootworkers, artists, homesteaders, community organizations and much more!
At the Chesapeake Herb Gathering we strive to create a meaningful experience that is affordable financially and particularly gives voice to people, traditions, and view points that are what makes our movement so rich. We truly rely on sponsorship to keep our costs low while honoring the time of our teachers with honorariums, site fees etc! Sponsorship Levels: $2500 Sponsorship - logo on all printed/online marketing materials plus, full page ad in digital event program, promotion of your work via Centro Ashé/CHG social media, vendor table at event with entry for 20 people $1000 Sponsorship - logo on all printed/online marketing materials plus, promotion of your work via Centro Ashé/CHG social media, half page ad in digital event program, vendor table at event with entry for 7 people $500 Sponsorship - logo on all printed/online marketing materials plus, promotion of your work via Centro Ashé/CHG social media, 1/4 page ad in digital event program, vendor table at event with entry for 4 people $250 Sponsorship - logo on all printed/online marketing materials plus, 1/4 page ad in digital event program, promotion of your work via Centro Ashé/CHG social media, vendor table at event with entry for 2 people $150 Sponsorship - logo on all printed/online marketing materials plus entry for 1 person *If you or your company will not utilize the registrations that go along with your sponsorship please let us know how many you will not be using, and will will get those to the community based organizations we work with to ensure they get to folks who would like to attend but are unable to afford registration! Official Flyer Artwork Contest
Each year we have a local artist submit a piece of their artwork that we feature for our Chesapeake Herb Gathering Flyer. We will include your name/contact info on the event flyer as well as our website, you will receive a $75 honorarium as well as one registration to the 2016 Chesapeake Herb Gathering. In the spirit of building community we ask those who submit their works actually plan to attend the event! DEADLINE IS February 1, 2016 to show us your artwork, and we will announce our selection by March 1, 2016! Once we have selected our artist, we will the collaborate to put together content for the flyer. Please email [email protected] with your art, and let us know if you have graphic design skills to format the language/logos that will need to go onto the artwork!

Thank you so much for your interest of teaching a workshop at the Chesapeake Herb Gathering, we truly appreciate it! We are excited to co-create in community a weekend full of amazing knowledge, art, community and more! All of our teachers/performers receive free attendance to the gathering as well as free camping (no cabins are available onsite of our new location, though hotels are nearby in Waldorf and we are significantly closer to the DC and Baltimore areas than in years past.) In the spirit of building community we ask that all teachers plan to attend the entire event from beginning until end and help spread the word to their online newsletter and social media networks! We are unable to take timing requests for workshop slots.
Deadline for proposals is February 15, 2016. WE THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST and plan to make final decisions by Spring 2015 (but hopefully before), we will email you if your proposal is selected.
Important Info for Workshops/Live Music:
Workshops: Workshops are one hour and 15 minutes and will take place all day Saturday Sept. 24 and all day Sunday Sept. 25). We encourage creative workshops ranging from practical skills, youth activities, herbalism, farming, seedsaving, story telling, decolonizing yoga, plant walks, to theory. We love creative ideas! All workshops will need to be no-tech and we have no additional budget for materials.
Compensation: Your name and brief bio will be in our online digital program for attendees and on website! Option 1 $75 honorarium for your workshop and your camping and registration for the weekend are included. Option 2 Instead of your $75 honorarium you can opt for an additional guest pass for one registration including camping ($85 value).
Live Music: We are looking for acoustic performances or those with their own equipment. 1 hour performance sometime between 7-10pm on Saturday Sept. 24, band link and description on CHG website as well as digital program that goes to attendees, mention on Centro Ashé/CHG social media, $100 honorarium plus free registration for performers
